Pyridoxine activates many enzyme systems in the body. It also assists in the absorption of vitamin B-12 and aids immune system function.

Vitamin B6 deficiency can lead to depressed immunity by a decrease in the number and activity of lymphocytes, and a decrease in antibody production.
